grandson’s Death of a Tour made its way to Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater on March 8th. With a sold-out crowd ready for a good time, that’s exactly what they got with all three acts.
The night started off with Oxymorrons whose mix of alternative hip hop got the crowd hyped! Their latest single is called “Think Big,” and I strongly recommend streaming it repeatedly. Then when you’re done, be sure to check out the rest of their songs!
Royal & the Serpent took the stage next opening with the song “i can’t get high” – a powerful mix of soulful vocals and rock sounds. The crowd enjoyed every minute of the nine-song set which included the yet-to-be-released “*happier in hell,” a classic cover of the Killers “Mr. Brightside,” what has become a tour favorite with fans “Eat Spit” – featuring special guests Oxymorrons, and 2021’s hit “overwhelmed.”
The night ended with headliner grandson taking the stage with opening song, “6:00” which set up the tone for the night with its politically charged lyrics and high energy performance that continued to keep pace throughout the night. Amongst the many songs played included the album’s lead single “Dirty,” “Rain” (notably from the Suicide Squad), current single “Kult,” and “Blood // Water.”
Death of a Tour continues on throughout the U.S. until April 8th so be sure to check out a show near you!
*Release date has been announced as April 8, 2022
