The Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas was the place to be on Thursday night. Completing their first headlining show, Sleep Theory, along with special guests Oxymorrons, Pistols at Dawn, Hot for Crime and Color After Dark completed the bill as a part of the G2 Active Rock Gathering.
Las Vegas’ locals, Colors in the Dark kicked off the night with their blend of metalcore. The band successfully captured the audience’s attention before the chorus hit on their first track and successfully set the tone for the night.
Next up, Los Angeles’ Hot for Crime brought a change of pace to the evening by playing tracks from their recently released self-titled debut album. If heavy guitar riffs aren’t your thing, this band’s mix of “classic rock and roll” and modern sounds may be what your playlist needs.

After a brief intermission, Atlanta-based, Pistols at Dawn took the stage. The band is currently rising on the Billboard Rock Top 40 with the latest release “Fly” and brought that momentum to the stage. It was obvious that the audience was into their music, as the band played many of their best tracks – keeping up the evening’s vibe through their unique blend of hard rock.

After a brief intermission, New York’s own, Oxymorrons, took to the stage. The alt-rap band who is currently on their first headlining tour gave nothing but positive energy and a killer setlist. The band played a mix of both old and new tracks, much to the audience’s delight. Giving a nod to previously released songs such as “Pretty People” and “Django,” Oxymorrons included tracks from their upcoming album, Melanin Punk (out on 10/20), like “Insomnia” and current hit, “Look Alive (Netic).”

The night ended with Sleep Theory (your next favorite band) taking to the stage. Sleep Theory formed in its earliest iteration in 2019 and recently signed to Epitaph Records in June of this year. The band with their unique blend of heavy rock guitars and soulful vocals, played their first ever headlining show featuring songs from their just released debut, Paper Hearts, The night’s setlist included songs such as “Numb” and their hit song, “Another Way.”
Sleep Theory also mixed things up a bit by adding their unique flair on NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” and Linkin Park’s “Points of Authority” and played some other unreleased tracks that are sure to be take a spot on your playlist as soon as they’re released.
All in all, each artist was a great act to see live. Be sure to check out all of these artists on your preferred streaming platform and keep an eye out for a show near you.
