It’s been less than 24 hours since I was able to witness the magic of Lindsey Stirling, and my jaw is still on the floor. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves I have to highlight the amazing support of Walk Off The Earth! WOTE is an amazing indie band hailing from Canada and are generally known for their catchy covers of popular songs. They made good on their roots by playing covers from the decades, but their most fun may have been their cover of several The Beatles greats mashed up into one song. Now while the covers were immensely fun, the two biggest pops came when WOTE invited two guests on the stage. First was … LINDSEY STIRLING! Lindsey did what so many main acts never even think of, coming out to sing a song with the opener! Together they performed their new hit “Long Way” which has already almost passed 2 million plays on Spotify. WOTE started to play one of their biggest hits “My Stupid Heart” then suddenly stopped and said “I know y’all didn’t come out to hear this version,” and brought out 2 kiddos to help sing along!!

Now one thing I hadn’t mentioned, is that it was absolutely POURING – until Lindsey came out on to the stage. From the moment the first note of the violin filled the air, the rain started to slow, and by the third song it stopped completely. It’s like the weather gods knew – there is no force greater than Lindsey and her violin. The entire set was an homage to her career with hits spanning from the beginning to even more recent bops. Song highlights included “Artemis” “Shatter Me” “Roundtable Rival” and her newest cover of “Kashmir”. One of the things fans were gushing about after the show was her use of props, dancers and even a magic trick! All of this would be impressive for a “typical” concert, but when you add in the fact that this is being done while dancing and meshing classical with rock/pop, your mind is left blown.
