Boys Like Girls’ “Speaking Our Language Tour” presented by Emo Nite (which kicked off in September) is a jam-packed event that is a mixture of old and new, featuring artists you’ve probably been listening to for years. The tour made a stop at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on October 2nd, bringing The Ready Set, LOLO, 3OH!3 and State Champs along to the crowd’s delight.
The Ready Set, who recently started releasing new music again in 2023 including “Loose Change” (released September 29) and Act 2, opened the night playing a 20-minute set.
After a brief intermission, LOLO continued to build on the crowd’s excitement, taking the stage for 30-minutes with a mixture of upbeat guitar riffs and stellar vocals, keeping the crowd’s attention.
Continuing with the momentum, 3OH!3 took to the stage (after a quick set change) and kept the continually building crowd, singing and dancing along throughout their 35-minute set.
By the time State Champs hit the stage, the House of Blues was packed and absolutely ready to sing, dance and jump along to their 45-minute set. The band, who’s most recent release includes 2022’s Kings of the New Age, kept the crowd engaged and actively hyped throughout the evening.
After a final intermission, Boys Like Girls, closed the night by fitting in as much music possible in their hour and 40-minute set. The night featured epic video displays and lighting designs to accentuate the band’s long-running discography. The crowd was eager to go along the journey, continuing to keep up the vibe. Looking around, it was impossible not to see someone having a good time.
The band even brought it back to the night’s earlier acts by bringing out The Ready Set, 3OH!3 and Derek DiScanio from State Champs to join in on their song, “The Outside.” (“The Outsiders” version featuring DiScanio & 3OH!3, along with Brain Dales from the Summer Set is available on streaming platforms 10/6.)
The band’s latest album, Sunday at Foxwoods, is set to release on October 20, while tour dates continue until 11/1, so be sure to check it out at a city near you!
