Five Finger Death Punch brought their Legacy World Tour to Raleigh, NC, on Wednesday night at Coastal Credit Union Music Park, celebrating 20 years as a band and the release of their 10th studio album, Legacy.

Formed in Las Vegas in 2005, Five Finger Death Punch has built a loyal following with music that balances an aggressive sound with a more vulnerable side. The current lineup features vocalist Ivan Moody, guitarists Zoltan Bathory and Andy James, bassist Chris Kael, and drummer Charlie Engen. Their music explores struggles with identity, faith, and personal demons alongside the everyday frustrations many listeners can relate to. That combination has helped the band connect with fans beyond the heavy guitars and hard hitting vocals.

Eva Under Fire got the night started with a fun, energetic set, bringing plenty of hard rock attitude to the stage and warming up the crowd. Cody Jinks was also on the bill, adding some outlaw country rock to the mix. Moving from hard rock to country and back to heavy metal made for an unexpected blend of sounds, but it gave the night some variety before Five Finger Death Punch took the stage.

Five Finger Death Punch opened with “Welcome to the Circus” and worked three songs from its latest album, Legacy, into the set: “Legacy,” “Eye of the Storm,” and “De Oppresso Liber.” The new material fits right in alongside songs from across the band’s catalog, including The Way of the Fist, War Is the Answer, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Vol. 1, Got Your Six, And Justice for None, American Capitalist and AfterLife. The band also played its version of “Bad Company,” the classic rock song originally recorded by Bad Company.

Moody and the band sounded great throughout the set, with strong vocals and plenty of interaction with the crowd. He regularly spoke directly to fans and kept them involved throughout the performance, making a large amphitheater feel a little more personal.

Beyond the music, Five Finger Death Punch has developed a strong connection with the U.S. military through performances for service members stationed at overseas bases in war zones and charitable work supporting veterans. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, guitarist Zoltan Bathory reflected on those experiences and the band’s journey. The group has also supported veterans struggling with PTSD through its “Wrong Side of Heaven” campaign, along with organizations such as the Gary Sinise Foundation and Covenant House.

After two decades, Five Finger Death Punch shows no signs of slowing down. Despite lineup changes over the years, the band has continued to release albums and play major stages. Their sound blends hard rock and heavy metal, with a clear lean toward the heavier side. For fans who grew up listening to the band, the Raleigh show offered plenty of familiar songs alongside new material from Legacy. With a deep catalog and a loyal following, Five Finger Death Punch showed Raleigh that they’ve still got it.
