Location: Lincoln Hall – Chicago, IL
Rebecca Black (of the viral 2011 single “Friday”) proved herself to be a pop sensation this past Tuesday at her sold-out show at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall.
Touring in support of her 2021 EP release Rebecca Black Was Here, the singers first headlining club-tour had already proved to be a massive hit with the entire tour selling out.
Lights dimmed as Rebecca took the stage to her album opener “Better in My Memory” as she was silhouetted by LED lights, just a hint of the arena-worthy production to come although we were in a small venue.

Black owned the stage as she danced along to “Read My Mind” and “Worth It for the Feeling” as the fan next to me screamed “YOU’RE A POP STAR!” And it was true, Rebecca commanded attention and it was easy to see how she could soon sell out arenas.
The night was full of new tracks and old releases from her various collabs including “yoga” with bbno$, “Edgelord” with Dorian Electra, and her most recent collab “heart2” with umru.
As the night came to an end, Black finished with 2021’s “Girlfriend,” the first single released off her EP, before faking out the crowd by saying that was her last song.
But surprise surprise! Rebecca took us back to the song that put her on the map as she officially closed her set by perfoming the 2021 hyperpop remix of “Friday” featuring Big Freedia, 3OH!3, and Dorian Electra.
