Mt. Joy kicked off their spring tour on Monday night at the sold-out Palace Theater in St. Paul, MN. They walked on stage to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, an ode to the band’s Philadelphia birthplace, as well as a reference to Will Smith’s antics at the previous night’s Oscars Awards. After a quick tune of their instruments, they launched into “Lemon Tree,” the recently released first single off their upcoming third studio album. Throughout the night, they would go on to play two additional unreleased songs, giving the fans a taste of what’s to come from the band in the near future. The band stayed true to their hits, performing fan favorites from their first album, such as “Astrovan,” “Jenny Jenkins,” and “Julia,” as well as a few tracks from their second album, such as “Let Loose” and “Strangers.” They concluded the night with arguably their most popular song, “Silver Lining,” which had the crowd singing and dancing along until the final note.
