LIVE REVIEW: Rob Zombie at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, IL on August 5, 2022

Ninety-degree heat and uncomfortable level of humidity! This was definitely a perfect setting as Rob Zombie brough his Freaks on Parade Tour to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, IL. Opening acts Mudvayne, Static X, and Powerman 5000 cranked up the heat even further until it was time for Rob Zombie to take the stage.
As the lights fade, “Chicago” by Frank Sinatra bring to blast from the speakers. As the chants from the crowd grow louder, the music transitions to “Expanding the Head of Zed” which brings the cheers to a head. Piggy D and John 5 take their places and break into “The Triumph of King Freak” as Rob Zombie appears at top of what appears to be a giant tombstone!
At 57, the energy that Rob Zombie exhibits on stage is unrivaled. Running back and forth, jumping up and down, and dancing like a mad man, he performed hit after hit. Among those were “Superbeast”, “Living Dead Girl”, “More Human Than Human”, “Never Gonna Stop” and many more. He even threw in a cover of The Ramones hit “Blitzkrieg Bop”.
Joined on stage by master musicians John 5 on Guitar and Piggy D on bass, the crowd was treated some phenomenal musicianship and unparalleled crowd interaction. These men have been performing together for a long time and it showed. It was clear to all that they were having the time of their life!
It would be safe to say that at the end of the night, the crowd was spent, but happy! If the “Freaks on Parade Tour” hits your town or a town nearby, it would definitely be worth the trip.
