INTERVIEW: Martin Aelred and Tam O Shanter

Multi-talented opera singer Martin Aelred is back with a new version of ‘Tam O Shanter’, a tribute to the late Billy Mackenzie of The Associates. Around the release, Martin answered a few questions for us.
– What was your inspiration behind the song ‘Tam O Shanter’?
Robert Burns poetry inspired this new version of the song.
– The music video is really Halloweenesque. Did the season motivate this theme or is there another reason?
The story of ‘Tam o Shanter’ has always been a ghost story it’s just a coincidence we released it on Halloween
– What makes you stand out as a singer?
I’m an opera singer that also loves great pop music
– Who would you like to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Jimi Hendrix
– What are you most proud of to date?
My work with Alzheimer’s patients
