Pop-rocker Leah Kate is bringing her Super Over tour to cities all across the United States in support of her latest album of the same name, released on September 15. Her support acts were chosen from submissions through Instagram and Tik Tok; for Oklahoma City’s show at Beer City Music Hall, she was accompanied by AJA, Senses, and Ceara Cavalieri for a night of feminine angst and fun.

First to take the stage was Ceara Cavalieri, who set the tone for the night with her fun energy and edginess as she performed songs such as “Liar Liar”, “Hot Mess” and “Used”. Her aesthetics were very “Barbie meets Avril Lavigne”, and I am excited to see what the future has in store for her!

Next up were the heaviest act of the night, pop-punk act Senses. They were brash, unapologetic, and a whole lot of fun as they played through their set of primarily original songs, although I don’t think there was a soul NOT singing along when they broke into a kick-ass cover of Fall Out Boy’s classic “Sugar, We’re Going Down”. After Leah’s tour wraps up, the trio will be going on the road for a few shows of Boys Like Girls’ current tour. Their current touring itinerary can be found here.

The third and final support act was AJA, a young singer who is an absolute powerhouse of a vocalist. She grabbed the audiences attention from the first note, kept their attention as she played a mixture of original songs as well as a couple of covers from two of the most notable Gen-Z singers out right now – Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Traitor”. She closed her set with her latest single, “Karma’s a B”, and I know I will make sure this is not the last I hear of her.

Finally, around 9:40 or so, it was time for Ms. Kate to take the stage, and the crowd went wild as she launched into the title track from her new album, Super Over. Leah has an unmistakable stage presence that makes her stage set a true delight to watch. Even if one only knew her viral hit “10 Things I Hate About You”, her blend of catchy pop choruses with danceable guitar riffs had everyone dancing the night away through a mixture of newer tracks like “Get in Loser,” “Unbreakup,” and “Bored” as well as past bops like “Alive and Unwell” and “Monster”. By the end of the night, not a soul was left who hadn’t been dancing at least once. It was also clear that Leah is passionate about her fans, pausing to talk with them between songs, and even bringing up a young fan who had been at her meet-and-greet during the youngster’s favorite song.

If you have an opportunity to go to a Leah Kate show, take it! She is an excellent performer, and her music is perfect for dancing your troubles away (especially if they’re relationship troubles <3)

The Super Over tour continues throughout the western United States, concluding in Portland, OR on October 19. Tickets for all remaining shows are available here.
