FLOYA RELEASES VIBRANT NEW MUSIC VIDEOS “DRIFT” AND “LIGHTS OUT”

1

Electro-Rock duo Floya just released two new music videos for songs off of their upcoming album, Yume, set to release on March 8th.

Blending EDM, Modern Rock, and everything in between, Floya have quickly garnered praise for their layered and upbeat songs. Each song offers a bright and unique soundscape that has listeners hooked from the first note.

Drift

This song speaks to a universal message: Do not let anything hold you back from your dreams, even your own doubts or past experiences.

“I made up my mind // you know I tried to make it work before // But it caused me so much pain, put out my flame”

“Drift” is an anthem for those who have lost their spark. It is a raw glimpse at the war within ourselves: Should I do this? Is it worth it?

But, as Phil and Marv, the creative minds behind Floya, make clear, we should chase those dreams.

“It’s calling me from deep in my soul, how could I just ignore this // It’s what I need despite all that I’ve lost // I know how much it cost me”

“Drift” is a reminder to all of us to never let our fears hinder our path forward; Life is too important for us to succumb to our own self-destruction. We can get past the “storm”, as seen in the music video, and finally do the things we love without hesitation.

Lights Out

“Lights Out” blends masterful lyricism with nostalgic and dreamy instrumentals to bring listeners on a journey of pain, perseverance, and acceptance.

“Cut the lights, I feel my armour wearing thin // In their eyes I’m petrified // Entombed inside of my own skin”

The visuals of the accompanying video contrast the lyrical heaviness of the track. Bright, dream-like, and intertwined with live and “behind the scenes” footage, the video feels like a moving scrapbook. While the song itself speaks on the struggles of accepting oneself, the music video shows the good things that are worth living for. A kaleidoscope of memories that bleed “Look at how far we’ve come.”

“Alive but on my knees // The lights keep haunting me // Will you come and see what’s inside my deepest blue // Hold on and follow me”

Floya are set to release their debut album Yume on March 8th, 2024. Be on the lookout for the full album review coming soon at Manor 208. In the meantime, be sure to keep up to date with Floya on Instagram and Facebook.
