Lineup: McKinley Dixon, Tank and The Bangas

Date: March 9, 2023

Venue: Tulips, Fort Worth, TX

On a cold and rainy Thursday night the city of Fort Worth welcomed McKinley Dixon who was a supporting act for Tank and The Bangas for their Red Balloon Tour.

All the way from Richmond, Virginia singer-songwriter McKinley Dixon took center stage at Tulips. The small and simple venue allowed for Dixons set to have a more intimate feeling to it. Dixon performed songs from his third studio album where jazz meets hip-hop “For My Momma And Anyone Who Look Like Her” that he released back in May 2021. He also performed his latest release  “Tyler, Forever” a song written about navigating through the grief of losing someone close to you and learning how to move forward. McKinley wrote this song about his late friend Tyler. A song he also dedicated to everyone that we have lost way too soon.

You can pre-order his new single “Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?” that will be out June 2nd!

Spoken word, funk and soul Tank and The Bangas were next to take over the stage. Their set list included songs like “No ID”, “Why Try” “ Stolen Fruit” and “Big” from their latest release “Red Balloon” “DM Pretty” and “Nice Things” “Ants” from their “Green Balloon”. “Big” was a fan favorite, everyone in the room was singing and dancing along.
