THIS WAS AN evening of firsts for me; I had never been to The Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City and I had never seen The Avett Brothers live. In fact, none of the photographers in the photo pit had seen them either. By the end we earned some wonderful photos and treasured memories. People were leaning over the barricade (nearly jumping over) trying to get closer to the group as they walked on stage. The seated section all jumped out of their chairs and began to scream, adding to the rumble of the enormous crowd behind me. I watched the whole band give everything they had as people danced the sun into its setting phase. It was truly an incredible evening with The Avett Brothers.
