It was a packed house in DC this Tuesday when MisterWives took their Don’t Look Down Tour to The Anthem! The night got kicked off with Raffaella, a powerhouse vocalist whose love of jazz can be heard in her indie pop style tunes. Aside from an outstanding vocal range, fantastic fashion sense, and story telling lyrics, Raff connects with the crowd by introducing her songs to them. She put on an outstanding performance which was both bubbly and heartfelt.

Bishop Briggs opened her set about 20 feet above the stage on this huge illuminated screen cube singing “Art of Survival”. The energy Bishop brought into The Anthem was electric! Jumping up and down, and skipping from side to side of the stage while busting out all the hits! Mid set, she serenaded fans with a phone lit acoustic performance of “Dream”. It was all out full gas the rest of the performance and about blew the roof off The Anthem with her cover of “Take Me to Church’. The night wouldn’t be complete with out performing the song that about broke TikTok, “River”.

Finally it was time for a packed house to see MisterWives! Lead Singer Mandy Lee took the same opening spot as Bishop and kept the energy as high as it’s ever been opening with “Out of Your Mind”. As she came down the steps she also bounced around the stage but also had this Hayley Williams-like punk power about her. By the third song the photographers were led out of the photo pit and I looked over to another photog who said “Holy (Radio edit) That was AWESOME”. Mandy and the band continued to sample all their albums singing fan favorites like “SuperBloom” and “Our Own House” and closed things out with their newest hit “Nosebleeds”.
