On a cold and wet Friday the 13th, The Fillmore was set to transform into crowd surf city! First up, power house Vended led by front man Griffen Taylor took the stage with some of the band members adorning face paint and/or masks. The kicked the doors of the night wide open with their hit “Ded to me” and the circle pit did not slow down for the next 5 songs. One theme of the night for vended was throwing open water bottles into the crowd, I guess they thought we were thirsty.
After a very short break, the legendary quartet from Costa Mesa were ready to storm the stage. Vocalist Aaron Pauley (while admittedly sick) jumped right into fire with hits “Bones Exposed” and “Would You Still be there”. Strapped with a Green, Yellow, and Red Jurassic Park inspired guitar Phil Manansala was shredded the night away. This particularly shined when the band performed “War Paint”. No OM&M night would be complete without SECOND & SEABRING!
By 9:30, it was finally time to SCREAM AIM AND FIRE! While Bullet has been around since 98 ( Jeff killed John) the band still comes out swinging like they’re in their 20s! Heavy rifts, powerful screams, and drums that pound through your heart are the perfect way to describe what the rest of the night would feel like. By the end of the second song, Matthew Tuck did pause the show so security could help a few fans that … moshed a little too hard. The rest of the night when off without a hitch and fans got to enjoy hits from the new and old days.
