As a concert reviewer it’s not often I get a request to review a show, but when I do, I know I’ll be in for a good time! Lanco took their Run Run Baby tour to the historic Tally Ho Theater Friday night for a show that the area would be talking about all weekend. They brought support from singer/songwriter Willie Tate, and up and coming power house Megan Patrick.
If you frequent the Virginia concert scene you’ll know that the crowd doesn’t normally show up until about 5 minutes before the headliner gets on stage but this was not the case Friday night. The crowd was here to party from the second Willie got on stage until the last song from Lanco was performed. Willie, who is relatively unknown got the crowd primed and ready with some original music and amazing covers with good crowd interaction. It’s always a fantastic sign when you see people on their phones mid show to add music to their Spotify and add artists on Instagram. Coming to the stage next and accompanied by Lenny Pey was 2 time CCMA Female artist of the year Meghan Patrick. Any time you see a country singer walk on to the stage with a bottle of Jameson and 2 beers at the ready, buckle up for a fun set! Meghan wowed the crowd for a 45 minute delightful set ranging from heartfelt songs to all out jams. A highlight of the night was Meghan’s performance of Red roses and Red Flags. She was honest and raw about why the song was written and her performance brought tears
By 9:15 it was time for the main event! Lanco burst onto the stage for their first song like they were playing a sold out stadium show. Aside from the amazing vocals, lyrics, instrumentals, I have to give a huge shout out to whomever was setting up the light show for the night. While blue and red light may not always be the most fun to photograph in, the use of perfectly choreographed stage, back, and spot lighting made for an amazing fan experience. Seriously, enough cannot be said for Lanco’s stage presence. While you typically find better authentic vocal range at a lot of country shows, they can be a bit … well stale and boring. Fans got to see the band jumping around and using every inch of the stage that night. Now that I think about it, it was every inch of the stage and more! After the crowd got to hear one of Lanco’s most popular songs ” Born to Love You” the band surprised fans by coming out on to the floor!

While the Run Run Baby tour is coming to an end, be sure to stay up to date with Lanco so you can experience the full on show they put on!
